In compliance with the March 12, 2021 deadline, Pentax is pleased to announce the final transition from OHSAS 18001 to iSO 45001 for occupational safety management system compliance.
iSO 45001 represents a new internationally recognized system that, in addition to sharing the approach of iSO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System) and iSO 140001:2015 (Environment Management System), modernizes an outdated standard, aligning it with the HLS (High Level Structure) approach.
What changes from the past?
In addition to a universally recognised approach, the iSO 45001 standard introduces:
– Greater importance to the company’s organisational context: safety management must be clear with clearly defined authority and responsibility;
– Leadership and direct responsibility: The company’s top management is called upon to manage health and safety at work directly (without delegation) in the various processes that characterise it
– A proactive approach: it becomes the company’s task to clearly identify and describe opportunities for improvement in the health and safety of workers
